Hello and welcome to our Wednesday morning edition of The Valiant for December 4.
Ronan Curtis’s superb stoppage-time strike salvaged a 1-1 draw at Cheltenham to keep Vale top of League Two ahead of Saturday’s mouth-watering clash with Walsall.
Vale looked to be heading for defeat when George Miller gave Cheltenham the edge in a scrappy game by getting the final touch to a 53rd-minute corner.
But Darren Moore brought more firepower off the bench and Vale’s efforts were finally rewarded in the 94th-minute when Ruari Paton squared the ball to Curtis who bent it brilliantly into the top corner from the edge of the area.
The result leaves Vale a point clear of Walsall ahead of their meeting in the top-of-the-table clash at Vale Park when there could be another 10,000 crowd to match the gate for the last home game, against Crewe.
