Moore upbeat after Birmingham test
A look at Port Vale after their 2-0 pre-season defeat at home to Birmingham
Hello and welcome to our Sunday morning edition of The Valiant for July 27.
We’re reflecting on an interesting afternoon in Burslem as Vale were beaten 2-0 by a quality Birmingham City side.
George Byers and Funso Ojo went close for Darren Moore’s men before the break but the visitors took the lead on 16 minutes when Keshi Anderson fired in off the bar.
The second half produced few chances but Birmingham made the most of the main one on 80 minutes as Willum Willumsson was unmarked to score in off the post from 12 yards.
Vale are back in action at Altrincham on Tuesday before their League One campaign starts at Rotherham on Saturday.
We’ve got news, reaction, opinion and analysis in this morning’s edition.
