Old failings return as Port Vale are held at Lincoln City
Analysis, reaction and more as Vale were left frustrated after conceding late on in a 1-1 draw at Lincoln City
Andy Crosby said Port Vale’s draw at Lincoln felt like a defeat after Olamide Shodipo’s 93rd-minute equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for the hosts.
Vale had taken the lead through Ben Garrity on 34 minutes as they dominated the first half. But Ollie Arblaster was sent off two minutes into the second half for a second booking and, although the Imps’ Paudie O’Connor was also ordered off, on 53 minutes, for an off-the-ball foul on Uche Ikpeazu, the home side managed to force Vale on to the back foot.
That said, they didn’t create a huge amount until Jack Vale crossed for former Valiants loan winger Shodipo to level from close range.
