Port Vale ended their 11-game winless run in the league as a gritty performance and Ollie Arblaster’s 29th-minute goal secured a 1-0 victory at Exeter.

Vale kicked off the game knowing they could have finished it in the relegation zone but instead are six points clear and up to 17th.
