Port Vale take heart but Steve Evans expects apologies

Only actually scoring will end the concern about Port Vale’s goal output but they showed plenty of grit to earn a goalless draw at Stevenage and end a run of three successive defeats.
The Vale will finish the weekend in 14th after showing plenty of resolve to stand up to Steve Evans’ sixth-placed side in a game that made up in commitment for what it lacked in flowing football.
Vale have only scored 11 goals in their 13 league games, and none in their last four. However, there is encouraging news on that front as strikers Ryan Loft and Uche Ikpeazu were able to play 45 minutes each on their return to action, helping their side to a deserved point in front of 542 appreciative travelling supporters.
