Hello and welcome to our Sunday edition of The Valiant for March 23.
Vale gained ground on the automatic promotion places amid tremendous late drama.
Goalless at home to Morecambe as the clock ticked over to 89 minutes, it seemed they had thrown everything at their stubborn visitors only to be frustrated by the woodwork, near misses and increasingly frantic penalty appeals.
Cue perhaps the biggest moment of their season so far as Rico Richards laid the ball back to Ronan Curtis who got enough power on the ball to send it skimming into the bottom corner from 20 yards right in front of the Hamil.
They nearly took the roof off, Curtis flung his shirt towards the town centre and when the celebrations in the stands had finally subsided, the Vale were up to fourth in the table, level on points with third-placed Wimbledon with a game in hand.
Darren Moore’s team return to Vale Park on Tuesday to take on Barrow. You don’t want to miss it.
