Welcome to edition 352 of The Valiant

Hello and welcome to our Sunday edition of The Valiant for October 12.

Vale stretched their unbeaten run to five league games as Devante Cole’s late strike rescued a point at AFC Wimbledon.

The draw was no more than Vale deserved as they had far the better of the first half, albeit without turning that into clear chances apart from George Byers’ header against the bar from Ronan Curtis’ corner.

The second half was more even and the home side capitalised on a defensive lapse as former Vale loan player Antwoine Hackford fired them in front.

But Vale levelled on 86 minutes when Jayden Stockley’s header was pushed away by Nathan Bishop and Cole scored the rebound from six yards to put Vale in 15th.
