Super Vale stun Birmingham
A look at Port Vale after their 1-0 Carabao Cup win at Birmingham City
Hello and welcome to a special Wednesday morning edition of The Valiant for August 27.
What a night for the Vale!
Underdogs away to Birmingham in front of 21,000, they snuffed out the home club’s attacking efforts, created the best chances of the game, and won it 1-0 thanks to Jaheim Headley’s 45th-minute diving header from Ryan Croasdale’s cross.
That puts them into tonight’s third-round Carabao Cup draw but, more than that, will be a huge boost to morale for a team who haven’t picked up the points their performances have deserved in the league.
Surely that first win in League One won’t be far away if they can reach the levels they showed last night away to one of the clubs expected to compete at the top end of the Championship.
We’ve got news, anaylsis, opinion and nostalgia in today’s edition as we look at this victory.
