Hello and welcome to our Wednesday morning edition of The Valiant for March 26.

Vale blew the chance to break into the automatic promotion positions as they were beaten 1-0 at home to Barrow.

The damage was done in the first half as Darren Moore’s side started slowly and went backwards from there against visitors who took the lead when Ben Jackson rifled home a shot from the edge of the area on 36 minutes.

Vale were much better after the break, aided by the introduction of half-time substitutes Rhys Walters, Ryan Croasdale and Lorent Tolaj.

But Jayden Stockley, twice, Ben Garrity and Tolaj all hit the woodwork and Ryan Croasdale had a penalty shout waved away as Barrow held on to deny the hosts even the point they required to climb to third.
