Vale frustration in Harrogate stalemate
A look at Port Vale after the goalless draw at home to Harrogate
Hello and welcome to our Wednesday morning edition of The Valiant for March 5.
Vale had to take consolation in results elsewhere as they were held to a goalless draw by a stubborn Harrogate side at Vale Park.
Darren Moore’s side are now ten unbeaten but let’s not gloss over the fact this was two points dropped against a side who are 20th and kicked off with the fourth-worst away record in the division.
Vale had chances to win it, the best of which saw Rekeem Harper foiled by keeper James Belshaw in the first half and then substitute Jerry Umolu fire wide at the far post late on.
At least they didn’t lose too much ground as Bradford were the only side in the top seven to win as Doncaster, Crewe, AFC Wimbledon and Notts County were all beaten and Walsall only drew.
But sixth-placed Vale know they will have to push on at some point and be more ruthless than they were last night over their remaining 13 games of the regular season.
