Lorent Tolaj puts Vale in front at Notts County. Pic by Tom Green

Hello and welcome to our Monday evening edition of The Valiant for October 7.

The Vale have reached the ten-game point of their league season and are definitely making progress after Saturday’s 1-0 win at Notts County moved them to sixth, within a point of League Two leaders Walsall.

There is also much to be said for the manner of victory as Vale conceded plenty of possession but defended stoutly to see off a Notts side who I reckon will be pushing for promotion along with Darren Moore’s men.

Too soon to be making that sort of call? We’ll see. We’re looking in depth at the Vale in this evening’s edition with the usual news, analysis, opinion and nostalgia ahead of Saturday’s game at MK Dons.
