Well that wasn’t dull. Did Vale get away with one or was this a sign of a successful side? Maybe it was a bit of both as they came from 2-0 down after 89 minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw at Accrington Stanley.

The Vale were almost bullied out of the game in the opening 45 minutes as Shaun Whalley brilliantly bent the ball inside the far post on 29 minutes before Donald Love headed home a 43rd-minute corner to give the hosts a deserved advantage.

Vale improved after the break, as Darren Moore made changes in formation and personnel, but they had to wait until the 90th minute to pull one back through Jayden Stockley’s diving header.

That set up a frantic finish which yielded a 95th minute equaliser when substitute Antwoine Hackford kept his cool to fire home after the ball deflected across the area.

That makes it three league games unbeaten for Moore’s side who are ninth, two points outside the play-off places.
