What next for Port Vale after manager Andy Crosby is sacked
An in-depth look at Port Vale with news, analysis, opinion and nostalgia
Hello and welcome to our Monday evening edition for February 5.
So, goodbye and good luck Andy Crosby.
The manager’s nine-month reign came to an end this evening after the club reflected on Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Fleetwood, a result that left the Vale just two points outside the relegation zone on a run of just three wins in 20 league games.
It can’t have been an easy decision for the Vale owners, or for director of football David Flitcroft who had been criticised himself for failing to strengthen the squad sufficiently during the transfer window.
Crosby is a decent man who earned the respect of those who dealt with him, and also earned the respect for the way he did his job after arriving at Vale Park as assistant to Darrell Clarke in March 2021.
In tonight’s edition we’ll be looking at the decision to part company with the manager and what next for the Vale.
